Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need to apply strict measures to contain the spread of the virus , Christ Church Lewes is still very active in Christian worship and in its work in the local community
We hold church services every Sunday morning on Zoom, jointly with our sister churches in Seaford and Alfriston. You can join in by computer, smartphone or land-line phone. Please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you log in details.
The Think Tank also continues to hold its meetings on Zoom, while our other activities are on hold.
Preparations to re-open the church for worship have come and gone as restrictions have varied, but we do feel that we can now see light at the end of what has been a very long tunnel, and we are planning to resume worship in the church for Pentecost Sunday (23 May) . We will continue with Sunday morning services by Zoom until then.
Whilst all of the classes which operated in our building have had to be suspended, the Fitzjohn’s Food Bank has continued to operate from the church throughout the pandemic and we have also been able to provide a home for the Lewes Open Door lunch-time drop-in centre whilst their usual premises at Westgate are unavailable due to refurbishment.
