Church Walks
The walkers meet one a month (usually the third Sunday) after morning worship for a local walk and fellowship.
Our next walk will be on
Sunday May 21 starting at the church at 1 pm, Clayton Recreation Ground at 1:30 pm
We will leave the church (in cars) at 1 p.m. and head for Clayton Recreation Ground car park on Underhill Lane in the village of Clayton (What3Words ///hindered.sneezing.yarn), just to the south west of Ditchling, for 1.30 p.m. .
The walk will start with a look at the magnificent medieval wall paintings in Clayton church, which date from around 1100 AD. This was a time when most people could not read or write and Bible stories were told in picture form
We will then head up onto the Downs past the Jack and Jill windmills for a circular walk of about 3miles/5 km .There are good views across Sussex from the top of the Downs here. The weather forecast is promising for next Sunday .
