THINK TANK

'The Christ Church ThinkTank has been in existence for over 10 years. It draws on speakers from all the churches in the Lewes area.  Whether you go to church or not, come whenever the topic interests you. The format is 45 minutes talk and 45 minutes discussion and our average attendance is about 30. All meetings are from 7.30 pm to 9 pm.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday  20 November 2019, when Professor Julian Dunne will be speaking on:

Decarbonising road transport: what can be done?

Julian Dunne is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sussex. His expertise is in dynamics and control of machines and vehicles and the challenge of decarbonising road transport is a particular research interest. His talk will explain in non-specialist language what can be done by governments and individuals to reduce carbon emissions from road transport – by far the largest source of carbon dioxide emissions in the UK. Julian regular attends St Pancras Church, and is part of the Lewes-Brighton Soup-Run Team.

CAROLS ON THE GREEN

Every year, just before Christmas, we join with our friends from St.Anne’s church and the Lewes, Glynde and Beddingham Brass Band on the Nevill Green, for a service of Christmas Readings and Carol Singing, together with hot mince pies and mulled apple juice.

Carols on the Green for 2019 will be on:

Sunday, 15 December at 2:30 pm.

We hope to see you there!

Starting in September, we will be holding our Messy Sunday on the second Sunday of every month (instead of the fourth Sunday).

We start at 9:30 am with breakfast, followed by a time for craft/activities, and with a worship celebration at 10:30 am. We aim to be finished by 11 am, though you can stay for coffee.

Do come and join us!

We also run Messy Church during school holidays, usually on a Friday morning between 10.30 am and 1 pm, with quizzes, Bible based activities and crafts for all ages, followed by a short time of informal worship and a light meal.

Our next school holiday
Messy Church will be on
1 November 2019
at 10:30 am.

For further details and dates please email us at activities@christ-church-lewes.org

Please note:
